Man fined after failing to attend court hearing

Failure to surrender to court bail dealt with at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court

FAILING to attend court as required has resulted in a fine for a Carmarthenshire man.

Stephen Williams, aged 37, of Llanelli, was due to appear before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (Feb 3) in connection with a failure to surrender to court bail said to have occurred on January 30, 2026.

The court heard that Williams did not attend court when required, and the matter was dealt with in his absence.

Magistrates imposed a fine of £200. He was also ordered to pay £90 in prosecution costs along with a £48 victim surcharge.

The court warned that further failures to attend could result in more serious action being taken.
