Multiple offences arising from single incident heard at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court
FOLLOWING a series of offences committed on the same day, a Carmarthenshire man has received a suspended prison sentence after appearing before magistrates in Llanelli.
Simon Jones, aged 35, of Derwendeg, Porthyrhyd, Carmarthen, appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (Feb 3) for sentencing in connection with three driving offences.
The court heard that on December 5, 2025, Jones drove a motor vehicle while disqualified from holding a licence. He also admitted driving dangerously on the same date and using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third-party insurance.
Jones entered guilty pleas to the offences, which had previously been indicated and formally recorded on December 17, 2025.
Magistrates sentenced Jones to a suspended prison sentence of 52 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for 24 months. The bench also disqualified him from driving for 36 months.
He was further ordered to pay prosecution costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, along with the statutory victim surcharge.
