Cardiff is set to welcome the first Welsh store from global designer toy brand POP MART later this year.
The company, known internationally for its collectable figurines and strong pop culture following, has confirmed it will open a new outlet at St David’s shopping centre. The launch will give Welsh shoppers their first opportunity to visit an official POP MART store without travelling to England.
POP MART has built a loyal fanbase through its blind-box collectibles and original character ranges, including the popular Labubu figures, which have gained widespread attention on social media. The Cardiff store will offer a selection of the brand’s best-known collections and an in-store experience aimed at both collectors and casual shoppers.
The new store will be located on the upper level of the Grand Arcade at St David’s, close to several major fashion retailers. An opening date has not yet been announced.
Helen Morgan, Centre Director at St David’s Cardiff, said the arrival of POP MART reflects growing demand for international brands and unique retail experiences in the city.
She said the addition strengthens St David’s position as a leading shopping destination and supports its continued investment in bringing first-to-Wales brands to Cardiff.
A spokesperson for POP MART said the company was excited to confirm its first Welsh location, adding that Cardiff had been a frequently requested destination among fans.
St David’s shopping centre, owned and managed by Landsec, is the largest retail destination in Wales, with more than 160 stores and a mix of national and international brands.
Founded in 2010, POP MART has expanded rapidly in recent years and now operates hundreds of stores worldwide, alongside a growing network of automated retail units.
